Kansai International (KIX)

Kansai International Airport is an international airport located on an artificial island in the middle of Osaka Bay, off the shore of mainland Japan. It opened in 1994 to relieve overcrowding at Osaka International Airport and is currently the third busiest in Japan with over 25 million passengers annually. Major airlines serving Kansai include All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, and Korean Air. The airport is known for its iconic passenger terminal - the longest in the world when first built - designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano.
