I had my reservations because of the bad comments but the truth is that my experience was pleasant. Javier was kind and attentive at all times. I had no problem with the quality of the food.
Service is great and friendly. Yes you do have to have your card with you to check in aswell as your ID and flight ticket. I have the platinum card and did not have to pay for anything. They did say that there is prices and will get a bill but it will state no payment needed all part of the membership. The area is small, you can't just walk around and you are assigned a table till you leave. They have barbershop, spa, limited food, and more. It does get packed but it served its purpose. I sat down use the bathroom, had coffee and some food till it was time to board.
Every time I have ever used any Centurion lounge anywhere, they have been able to look up my account using one of my other Amex cards, or I’ve been able to log in using a QR code from the app. I just had the same issue mentioned here in CDMX and I honestly found the whole thing infuriating. Here I am, a cardholder who regularly exceeds the minimum spend for bringing in guests every year for the past 10 years, and I am being denied entry because they can’t swipe my card. I asked what they would do if my magnetic strip was demagnetized for some reason and wouldn’t read (a perfectly possible scenario) and they said they would key in the card number manually. I offered to write down my card number for them (I have it memorized), and they said that would not be possible. I then asked to speak to a supervisor (I know, very Karen of me), and the supervisor informed me that this is the published access policy which applies only to lounges in Mexico. I asked where this policy was available for me to view, and she said it was in the T&Cs available when logging into the lounge Wi-Fi. I think it’s a bit peculiar that you need to access the Wi-Fi in the lounge in order to read the policy stating that you’re not allowed to access the lounge. 😵💫 The manager (Brenda) then told me that she might normally be able to make an exception to the policy, except there are too many people waiting who have their physical cards with them. I nearly lost it. There is absolutely NO REASON that Amex lounges across the US can look up my account using one of my other cards or allow me access using my app, and this lounge cannot. As the manager repeatedly told me that she could not make an exception for me, I calmly explained that this wouldn’t be an exception, and I am just insisting that Amex honor the benefit that I pay for. The fact that they cannot look up my card through any other means is, from my perspective, a technical limitation on Amex’s side which I have zero control over. They kept insisting that I sit in a waiting area to the side, which I refused to do. Something about me standing at the check-in counter looking annoyed seemed to be getting attention. I called the Amex travel hotline and the representative on the phone escalated for me. Suddenly they were asking me to write down my card number and manually entering it into their system. Magic! Anyway, I hate having to make a huge fit about things like this, but I was not asking for anything more than the service I pay for. Turns out the squeaky wheel does indeed get oiled.
Super service, attentive to every detail.
It is not possible that only 1 person can enter
I have a personal Platinum card and the experience turned out to be excellent. They still allow 2 guests for personal plat cards (and few other cards) but have higher restrictions for some cards. The service is excellent, right from entry till exit, and is the best Centurion lounge I have visited so far! Also, food is free for personal plat card members!
This lounge (Centurion lounge Terminal 2) is not very conducive to relaxation and working as it is noisy and crowded. The food options are limited to the menu, which is not very impressive in quality or variety. The staff are not very attentive or consistent, and they charge different fees for different cards. Food was free for our Amex card but it's not obvious which cards are free. The food service is slow, so it might not be a good option if you are in a hurry. After about 30-45 mins (waited and tasted for my food since i ordered the food), I moved to the Salon Premier Aeromexico lounge which was better for relaxing and working. I hope they will improve their facilities and services after their renovation in July 2024.
People lined up at 5 am for entry. They check you in and walk you to a table you desire. You order food through a menu and a waiter/waitress. Service is amazing, staff are friendly and warm. You can access the lounge through the elevator located inside the duty free or use the stairs, right after security on the left.
They are remodeling and it seems like they’ve hired all new staff. The staff were friendly but the service was very slow with 4-8 employees standing or wandering around looking lost. The food used to be a 3/5, as of today, you can find better food faster at any other place in this airport. Hello dry taco. 35 minute wait time.
Very sexy dining area with a very attentive staff. The black card area is very private and table service so be aware of that. I loved it was directed across from our gate and had air conditioning unlike much of the airport. This lounge gets you out of hustle and bustle of the Mexico City airport.
