Arrived at 11:30, looking forward to using the USO for a few hours before they closed at 2. There was no one there! Locked up tight. Waited around for another hour then gave up.

First off, most JFK employees don't even know that there is a USO in the airport. That is not surprising considering the size of it, which matches the hours, limited. They are open 9-2pm, supposedly every day. By the way, it is located in Terminal 5 across from baggage carousel 3. It is small and doesn't have the amenities that most others have. In their defense, the hours may be due to a lack of volunteers. Who wants to deal with the traffic to get to the airport? I wish I could have taken advantage of the service, considering my long lay over.

Everything I checked said open. Showed up to my flight early thinking Id get some shut eye, and relax, but it’s closed. Now i’m too early to check bags and no where to sit for the next few hours.

Google and the sign on the door day open until 5pm. Then a second door sign says closed until further notice. Would be swell to update Google so people don't waste time thinking they can come here.

I am a member of the New York State Chaplain Task Force (NYSCTF) and the United States Chaplain Task Force (USCTF), volunteering at the JFK USO in JetBlue Terminal across from carousel number 3. I serve on the 6am to 10am shift and is Loving it. Helping the Military and their families is a true calling upon me. The Joy and Blessings for me come from knowing that someone is there to guide them along the way and they pass though New York. I will be here to greet you when you get here. Your Chaplain JohnJ.
