Transavia Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Retro Livery on Airbus A321neo

On October 21, 2025, Transavia will celebrate its 60th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the airline is introducing a special retro livery on a new Airbus A321neo. Based on Thijs Postma's 1966 design, this livery brings a piece of Transavia's history back to life.

Transavia was founded on October 21, 1965, under the name Transavia Holland B.V. In the 1980s, Transavia primarily operated as a charter airline (flights on demand) in Europe and surrounding areas. Later, the airline shifted its focus to scheduled services.

Transavia's mission has always been to make flying accessible to everyone. On its 25th anniversary, the airline became a subsidiary of KLM and later part of the Air France-KLM group.

Retro Airbus A321neo

To celebrate Transavia's 60th anniversary, the airline is introducing a special retro livery on a new Airbus A321neo. This livery is based on Thijs Postma's 1966 design. He came up with the iconic green color and the large black T on the fuselage and tail. This was Transavia's first recognizable corporate identity.

While the exterior features a nostalgic design, the interior meets the modern standards of the new Transavia Airbus A321neo.

The arrival of a new Airbus in retro livery is our way of proudly looking back at what has brought us here and where we stand now.

Marcel de Nooijer, CEO Transavia

Delivery and First Flight

The special retro Airbus A321neo with the iconic livery is expected to be delivered in the summer of 2025, according to Transavia's press release. However, the exact date of the first flight with this retro livery is not yet known.

At the end of December, Transavia welcomed its seventh Airbus A321neo at Schiphol, with registration number PH-YHC. Along with the three from KLM, there are now ten Dutch neos.
