What I like about this lounge is: hot food, newspapers and the help yourself to alcohol. Although I rarely drink, I like the ability to serve myself
I guess the rating is highly dependent on the time of the day. With few Star Alliance flights leaving late in the evening my experience was a lot better than many others must have been. I was on the last Lufthansa flight of that night and found plenty of space to be available in the Senator Lounge. Shower was available for me to freshen up before departure. Bar served cocktails and high quality drinks, plus two kinds of German beer. An all out renovation is still overdue for this lounge, but I guess that won’t happen due to Lufthansa moving to the newly constructed Terminal.
one of the worst tbh
The young lady was very rude if I could give zero stars I would give -5
Front desk person wasn’t very friendly when we arrived, lounge is a bit outdated, food was just okay
I recently had a deeply disappointing experience at the Lufthansa Business Lounge at JFK Terminal One on November 23, 2024 in the evening. Upon arrival as a priority member, I encountered a staff member at the front desk whose behavior was shockingly unprofessional. This individual, whom I believe to be of Indian, or Pakistani descent and of small stature (couldnt get his name based on his behavior), accused me of being drunk without any basis and subsequently called security on me. This drastic measure was taken merely because I dared to provide feedback on how poorly I was being treated. The situation escalated quickly as he became increasingly annoyed and aggravated, making the entire experience extremely distressing. Not only did he fail to provide the courteous service expected in such a setting, but he also seemed intent on using his position to ensure I had a negative experience, even going so far as to try and have me removed from the airport. This is completely unacceptable behavior. I strongly believe that feedback and proper training need to be provided to this front desk member. His actions were unbefitting of someone in a customer service role, and he is clearly unqualified to be representing Lufthansa in such a capacity. It is imperative that steps are taken to ensure that no other passengers have to endure such a horrible experience. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing back from you regarding the measures that will be taken to address this issue.
To die for. Unbelievable selection of food, snacks, Coffee and liquor. Cool TV lounge. Quiet place, sun shine, decorative masterpiece
Crowded, dirty, people terribly loud - no seats
Two stars are for the friendly staffs. Otherwise, the senator lounge is so poor that I don’t even want to be back. Food and alcohol selection are bad. Climbing stairs for what? Restroom?
Enjoy
While waiting for our flight to Munich, we spent about 1.5 hours at the first class section of the Lufthansa lounge at JFK airport. After check-in, we were escorted by a very friendly and helpful lady to the priority security lane and afterwards into the Lufthansa lounge which is right after the security. The lounge is divided into three floors, the first is for business class passengers, the second floor is for Senators and the third floor is for first class passengers and HON circle members. The staff at the front desk told us that we will be picked up for boarding, so we could relax in the lounge without worrying about missing our flight. The staff on the third floor was very friendly and helpful, getting us some drinks and an a la carte menu to choose from. The salmon steak was very delicious! Also the snacks and sweets from the buffet offer a nice variety in case you don't need a meal from the menu. The restrooms are located on the second floor, so you either need to walk some stairs or take the elevator (which might take a while during the busy hours of the lounge). We enjoyed the stay at the lounge, thanks to the whole team for taking care of us.
There's a lot of alcohol - which you'll need to "enjoy" this dark, filthy, shower less, crowded "business class" lounge. Wear noise cancellation headphones if you have them to block out the sound of metal rattling overhead
The customer service was unacceptable. In my group of 7 people, 4 went into the lounge and told the staff at the front desk that 3 more people would be coming and asked if they would be allowed to enter. The staff said yes and when the final 3 people arrived, they said they were not allowed to enter the lounge because it was “full” while there were clearly many tables available. They refused to follow through on their promise and handled the situation very poorly. One lady at the front desk straight up walked away and never came back and Lorenzo (unknown surname) said, “I’m not doing this today…” (it’s his job to talk to customers in a polite and professional manner). Lorenzo also ignored members of the group mid conversation and moved on to the next person in line.
The first class section on the top floor is small, but comfortable.. The service is also excellent and definitely a quiet oasis amongst the madhouse that is JFK T1.
Great to be in the senator Lounge for an old airport still a nice Lounge comfortable seat in the area the food was not too bad I thought it would be better considering it's in New York but beggars can't be choosers
The only positive part about the lounge was the staff at the front desk and the waiters cleaning. Otherwise this lounge does not at all adhere to the first class/senator standards of Lufthansa. The food was not good at all and there was barely any variety. There was no alcohol and I ended up buying food from outside the lounge and bringing it with me. The senator lounge is not any different to the regular lounge other than the flight of stairs to access it. Such a large space could use a lot more buffet area & variety.
I haven't had the chance to explore the entire lounge, so my review is limited to the Wining & Dining area designated for first-class passengers. I must say, the food and service here were truly exceptional, leaving me with no complaints whatsoever. What's more, Lufthansa's ground services were outstanding: I was personally escorted from the check-in area to the lounge, and this swift journey took no more than 3 minutes, which was a lifesaver considering the long queue at regular check-in and security. Then, I was guided from the lounge straight to the plane. Kudos to Lufthansa for this remarkable experience! ♥️✈️
